Kendal has a great deal to offer the visitor - with excellent museums, shopping and restaurants, thriving arts centres and exhibitions, below are a few ideas for things to see on your visit to "the auld grey town".
Shops - not to be missed, include the famous Chocolate House 1657 Kendal. Hot chocolate to die for, if you have a sweet tooth this is your place.

Kendal Museum of Natural History and Archaeology (one of the oldest in the country, it includes an exhibition on the geology of the Lake District, and a stuffed polar bear).

Golf
Kendal boasts three golf courses within a few minutes, Kendal Golf Club, Carus Green Golf Club, are in Kendal, Beckside Golf Course (pic) at nearby Crook.
The local South Lakes area includes, Windermere Golf Club, Sedbergh Golf Club, Kirkby Lonsdale Golf Club and Casterton Golf Club.
A little further away are the courses at Grange, Bentham, Ulverston and the links courses along the Furness Peninsula.
